PURPOSE:
The Jewish Board is a large and diverse human services agency, with an annual budget of $240 million, 3,000 employees, and 60 service locations around the five boroughs. POSITION OVERVIEW:
An Sr Financial Analyst functions in a line capacity performing general and specialized accounting/ budget work under the direction of the Budget Director or Controller.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Performs all budgeting and/or accounting tasks as assigned, generally as related to a specific functional area of the Agency.
• Is expected to analyze fiscal trends and patterns within the scope of their assigned area and report any unusual or divergent patterns to their supervisor
• Is responsible for ensuring contract budgeting compliance, NYC experience a plus.
• May be responsible for the preparation of regular internal financial statements and presentations.

CORE COMPETENCIES
• Strong written and oral communication skills, and pay attention to details.
• Excellent organization and time management skills are essential.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline and one year of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment. An Associate’s degree and three years of experience in accounting is also acceptable.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software. Knowledge of excel required


COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Proficiency in using computer hardware (e.g. laptop, printers, scanners).
• Proficiency in using computer software (e.g. Microsoft office software, Avaya, Dayforce CRM).
• Familiarity with digital communication tools, email, video conferencing MST, Zoom, webex and instant messaging platforms.

VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY:
• The candidate should be able to read documents for analytical purposes such as computer information, software, computer graphic design programs, etc.


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL EFFORT
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be willing to work a hybrid work schedule.
