PURPOSE:
The Jewish Board’s Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. Our staff use a culturally affirming, person centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resilience of our communities.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position provides clinical services as part of an OMH licensed outpatient mental health clinic/ CCBHC location, interventions include, but are not limited to, evaluations; individual, group and/or family therapy; case management; and crisis interventions. Must live within the United States and have a valid NYS State Licensed.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations/ intakes as required.
• Develop treatment plans in collaboration with clients to identify treatment needs and interventions and review/revise treatment plans to reflect client’s treatment progress and changing problems/goals.
• Provide individual, group, family, and crisis interventions.
• Liaise with families, schools, criminal justice, and other community agencies to coordinate care.
• Provide linkages as driven by screenings and client identified needs to embedded care coordination, SUD services, nursing, psychiatric and medical services.
• Participate in clinical meetings, staff meetings, trainings, and supervision.
• Maintain all documentation according to the standards and time limits established by the Jewish Board, regulatory agencies, and/or funding sources.
• Maintain professional behaviors and ethical standards as established by licensing board, relevant professional association and the Jewish Board policies and procedures.
• Paid required participation agency training in evidenced based models (such as CBT/MI) applicable to continuing education credit requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

CORE COMPETENCIES for the position include:
• Able to engage with clients and explore clients' emotions, life events and the resources they can use to overcome any of the challenges they may face.
• Skilled in clinical risk assessment and providing trauma informed, culturally sensitive therapeutic interventions.
• Effective time management skills to ensure timely client care and subsequent clinical documentation.
• Understands group dynamics and can effectively lead clinical group sessions.
• Uses clinical assessments to drive referrals.
• Maintain an active and steady caseload

EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIRED

Master’s degree in counseling, creative arts, or social work from an accredited program AND a New York State License in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC); Creative Arts Therapy (LCAT), or social work (LMSW/LCSW) required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:
• A minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience is required.
• Experience treating children or adolescents is preferred.
• Fluency in a second language is preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Experience documenting in electronic health records and using Microsoft Office.
• Experience with tele-mental health platforms a plus.

VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY:

The candidate should be able to read paper and electronic documents and perform significant data entry into various computer programs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL EFFORT
• Remote work, home office, hybrid opportunities also available
• Schedule is centrally managed.
• Late afternoon/ Evening hours only
