Last year, with the support of our Junior Board, we held a fundraiser to build a library for survivors of domestic violence living at one of our shelters in Brooklyn. Through their generosity, we were able to build not one but two libraries full of imagination, creativity, and fun at sites in Brooklyn and Queens. Check out the beautiful results at our recently completed Brooklyn site!
But our work isn’t done: thanks to our fundraisers, additional donors have chosen to match what was raised to build even more libraries. We can’t wait to share the results from those projects, too!
As R. David Lankes said: “Bad libraries build collections, good libraries build services, great libraries build communities.” Thank you to everyone who helped invest in the imagination of the youth and families we serve.
