TREAT EVERY PERSON
WITH DIGNITY
We act with respect and caring towards our clients, colleagues, and communities.
Our staff are as diverse as the city we serve. No matter what your race, religious belief, cultural background, gender identity, sexual orientation, or ability – you have a place at The Jewish Board. We strive for a work environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging and is able to be their authentic self. Whatever our differences may be, we are united by our shared purpose.
The lives and experiences of our staff, clients, and communities inform our work every day. Our staff-run employee resource groups provide supportive spaces for staff to learn from each other and share topics close to their hearts. Monthly virtual town halls provide all staff with an opportunity to make connections, discuss issues, and ask questions that matter to them.
COR is the driving force for anti-racist change, the increased representation of people of color, and accountable leadership at The Jewish Board. COR provides culturally affirming resources and education to help staff better support clients and each other, professional development, leadership building, networking opportunities, and support among colleagues.
The Coalition Against Anti-Semitism (CAAS) aims to educate and give voice to the variety of Jewish individuals within the agency and throughout New York City by providing support, engagement, education, and dialogue.
The LGBTQ+ Steering Committee advocates for the safety, affirmation, and uplifting of all gender identities and expressions and sexual and romantic orientations, including intersectional and marginalized identities. LGBTQ+ Steering provides guidance to govern equitably, creates concrete supports for staff, clients, and visitors, and raises awareness and promotes inclusive communities.
