Angelique, Senior Supervising Office Manager

Learn about Angelique's journey at The Jewish Board and how she stays motivated and inspired.

Angelique began her journey with The Jewish Board in 2018 as the Office Manager at Kaplan House, one of our youth residential programs. She vividly remembers her first weeks on the job—it was around the holidays, and she felt an immediate connection to the program and a strong sense that she was in the right place. Today, that feeling remains unchanged, and her work continues to make a meaningful difference—not just for the youth we serve but in her life personally. Learn about her journey with us and how she grew at The Jewish Board.

What goals did you set for yourself at The Jewish Board, and what was most helpful in achieving them?

My main goal has always been to keep learning, listening, doing, and growing because I believe that’s the best way to make a real impact in any role. I’ve always looked for ways to improve, whether through hands-on experience or by furthering my education, and The Jewish Board has been a huge part of that journey. Their tuition assistance program made it possible for me to pursue a degree in Business Management, and I’ve been lucky to have the mentorship and support of my supervisor. Her guidance helped me build confidence as a leader and sharpen the skills I need to take on new challenges.

I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing leadership that supports me 100%! A huge shoutout to Sue, Jill, Sheila, Tracy, and Jenn for always pushing me to reach my full potential. I appreciate the support and opportunities I’ve had while working at Kaplan House, and I’m excited to continue learning and growing in the agency.

What are your passions or hobbies outside of work, and how do they influence or support your professional development?

Being a mom to three active boys (16, 12, and 9) keeps me on my toes—between school, basketball practices, and games, I’ve mastered the art of multitasking, staying organized, and keeping my cool under pressure. These skills naturally carry over into my professional life, helping me manage responsibilities and stay focused.

Outside of work and school, I make sure to enjoy life—whether it’s cheering my boys on at their games, spending quality time with loved ones, or just unwinding with a good TV show or movie. Having fun with the people I love keeps me balanced and ready to take on new challenges.

What song or album do you listen to when you need a burst of energy?

When I need a boost of energy, I turn to Beyoncé—her music always inspires and empowers me. Whether it’s “Run the World (Girls)” when I need motivation, “Love on Top” to lift my mood, or “Break My Soul” to push through a tough day, her songs always give me the energy I need. Albums like Lemonade and Renaissance are my go-to’s when I need to feel powerful and ready to take on anything.

What are some ways you’ve tried to expand your skill set in preparation for your new role? How has The Jewish Board supported you in preparing?

I returned to school inspired by the support and motivation of those around me and driven by my desire to grow and succeed. I also signed up for The Jewish Board’s Lean Six Sigma training and am eager to learn the fundamental principles it offers. Keeping an open mind and embracing the guidance and expertise of leadership have been essential in my development, allowing me to continuously expand my skills and adapt to new challenges.

What goals or challenges are you looking forward to addressing in your new role?

Stepping into my new role, I know there will be challenges, but I see them as opportunities to grow. One of my main goals is to contribute to the existing workflows, refining and enhancing processes to create a more seamless and efficient system across all programs. I want to ensure that staff feel supported and valued while also improving overall operations. Balancing multiple responsibilities can sometimes be overwhelming, but I’m ready to take it on with patience, teamwork, and a willingness to adapt. Most importantly, I want to continue making a real impact—ensuring that the youth we serve receive the best care possible while fostering a positive and productive environment for everyone involved.
