Meet Our Staff

Nissa, Executive Director

Learn why Nissa started a career in behavioral health, what she loves the most about the work she does, and how she grew her career.

What initially made you want to get into this field?

As an undergraduate studying psychology, I wanted to get experience in the field of behavioral health. I obtained a part-time job as a case worker in Adult Residential, and it was through that experience I realized I wanted to pursue a degree in social work.

What’s an average day like for you at The Jewish Board?

An average day is full of meetings, brainstorming sessions, supervision sessions, and lending support wherever it’s needed.

What’s your favorite part about the work you do?

My favorite  part of the work is brainstorming and troubleshooting with my deputy team partners. We are invested in making the Jewish Board clinic system the most efficient and effective service delivery for our clients. We want to make a positive impact in the quality of life for the people we serve.

Which of The Jewish Board’s core Values resonates with you most? Why?

This is a tough one because they all resonate with me. If I had to pick one it would be to treat every person with dignity and respect. This is a practice very close to my spiritual beliefs and reminds me very much of the values my father instilled in me. Treat and greet everyone you meet as if you are interacting with G-d.

You spend so much time caring for others; what’s one way you practice self-care?

I enjoy gardening, cycling, nature hikes, playing with my dogs, and spending time with my 13-year-old nephew, who begs me to play basketball with him (I’m not very good at it).
