Donna, Case Manager
Learn why Donna uses attentive listening, empathy, respect, and cultural sensitivity to deliver the highest standard of care.
What is your average day like at The Jewish Board?
My day focuses on caring for New Yorkers under our care. Part of this involves providing participants with skills training and psychoeducation through our Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services. It also involves coordinating services and collaborating with colleagues within my program to further support our clients’ personal, vocational, and clinical goals. I particularly enjoy guiding clients as they navigate cultural differences and helping them apply strategies to manage challenges in their daily lives.
What is your favorite part about the work you do?
I love seeing clients grow and achieve milestones, whether it’s gaining independence, improving communication, or making progress toward personal or vocational goals. I especially enjoy helping clients understand and navigate cultural differences, which supports their personal growth and confidence. Working with our deaf population has been an amazing experience and offers continuous learning opportunities.
Why do you think the value “Embrace Each Other’s Differences” is so important?
This value is essential because every client and colleague brings unique experiences, perspectives, and strengths. Embracing differences fosters understanding, inclusivity, and stronger connections—critical components in supporting our diverse community. I appreciate the supportive and encouraging leadership at PROS. Our leaders set a positive example, provide guidance when needed, and foster an environment where both staff and clients can thrive.
What song or album do you listen to when you need a burst of energy?
When I need a burst of energy, I often listen to Rihanna, as she inspires confidence and motivation. I also enjoy listening to Elton John, as we both share English roots and a love of London music. Additionally, I find praise dancing energizing and uplifting—it’s a wonderful way to refresh both body and mind.
