Sophia, Sr Development Operations Manager
Learn how Sophia bridges the gap between practical administration and the funding services for New Yorkers.
What is an average day like in your role at The Jewish Board?
My day at The Jewish Board as Senior Development Operations Manager is fast-paced, collaborative, and always evolving. I work behind the scenes, keeping fundraising and development operations running smoothly, driving projects forward, streamlining processes, and ensuring deadlines and priorities stay aligned. I partner closely with colleagues across the organization to solve problems, remove roadblocks, and move initiatives from idea to execution. It’s a role where I get to balance strategy and detail, and I really enjoy helping the team turn big-picture goals into tangible outcomes!
Why do you think our value “Strive to be Outstanding” is so important?
Striving to be Outstanding is important because it’s not about perfection—it’s about consistently caring about the work and doing it well because it matters. In my role, even the behind-the-scenes work supports services that impact real people’s lives, so there’s meaning in getting the details right. I also see it every day in my colleagues, who are deeply committed and always looking for ways to do better. That shared mindset is what keeps the work strong and impactful.
What song or album do you listen to when you need a burst of energy?
Anything by Jamaican artist Spice always gives me a burst of energy—her vibe is unmatched and instantly lifts my mood. I also unwind with reality TV, especially The Real Housewives franchises—nothing like a little chaos and glam to reset and recharge!
