
We know that people diagnosed with an intellectual disability have extraordinary abilities within them. Our Mishkon (Hebrew for “residence” or “dwelling place”) programs help intellectually delayed people of all ages reach their fullest potential.
By providing the finest and most compassionate medical care and therapeutic treatment, combined with customized opportunities for learning and growth, we offer individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities the chance to live as independently, productively, and meaningfully as possible.
Residential Programs
Our residences provide medical, educational, and therapeutic services for various levels of individual need. Individuals are offered on-going services on an as needed basis; all facilities are Glatt kosher and adhere to Orthodox Jewish Law.
Our staff is highly trained and sensitive to the complex needs of each individual. There is a full Shabbat program with special recreational activities for Jewish Holidays. Services include:
- Medical services
- Psychiatric services
- Social services
- Physical and occupational therapy
Home and Community Based Services (HCBS)
Supporting a parent’s decision to care for their child at home, trained workers visit regularly to improve daily living skills. Services include:
- Medicaid service coordination
- Community habilitation
- Camp scholarship
Respite Care
Under the HCBS Waiver program, a trained caretaker is placed in the home. The goal is to provide the parents:
- An opportunity to tend to needs of their other children
- Time to care for their own medical needs
- A chance to take a break
