Carissa, LMSW
Social Worker
I discovered my passion for this work while mentoring homeless teens as an undergrad. Watching young people achieve goals and regain confidence showed me how powerful support can be. That experience shaped my entire career. Today, I focus on creating a calm, caring space where people can explore and understand what’s getting in their way, build the confidence we all deserve, and make better choices that can affect our communities. Everyone has strengths, I hope to help you discover yours.
Ernest
Case Worker
I chose this work after seeing people in my community struggle, often self-medicating, turning to substances or “pushing through” without help because they didn’t know what resources were available. I support families in Staten Island by helping them understand their options, helping them feel less overwhelmed by the process of getting care. My goal is to make sure people feel supported, informed, and not alone.
Nicholas, LMHC
Social Worker
Growing up on Staten Island, I didn’t have the support system I needed as a young gay person. It wasn’t until college and finding my own therapist at the time, that I saw how life-changing it can be to have a place where you can be fully yourself. Now as a therapist, I try to bring empathy, validation, and authenticity to work. I love supporting young people and adults exploring identity, self-acceptance, and major life changes. I think I’m the kind of therapist I once needed: someone who listens, supports, and helps you find hope.
Renee, LCSW
Senior Director
I’ve always been driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference for individuals and families facing challenges. That’s why I’m so grateful to serve the Staten Island community through working directly with people, but also in my capacity as a leader for the Staten Island programs. I believe care begins with listening fully and treating others the way you want to be treated. Every day, I recommit to helping clients feel comfortable opening up, especially because I know how hard it can be to ask for help.
