Jodi J. Schwartz Named President of the Board of Trustees
Jodi J. Schwartz will succeed Jamie B.W. Stecher, who has served as President for the past four years.
A partner in the tax practice at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and one of the country’s leading tax lawyers, Ms. Schwartz brings more than 25 years of service to the agency into her new role. During that time, she has served on the Executive Committee, as co-chair of the Audit Committee, and on numerous other committees, giving her a deep understanding of both the agency’s mission and its operations.
Mr. Stecher said: “I’m deeply proud of The Jewish Board’s work helping New Yorkers of all religions, races, and cultures, and there is no one better to lead our Board of Trustees than Jodi Schwartz. Jodi has an exceptional eye for detail and an uncommon ability to see the big picture. She will be a great leader.”
“I wholeheartedly thank Jamie for his stellar leadership and for the strong foundation he leaves behind,” said Jodi J. Schwartz, incoming President of the Board of Trustees of The Jewish Board. “I am committed to making sure that vulnerable New Yorkers continue to receive the high-quality mental health care and outstanding residential care, and I look forward to working with the agency’s tremendously talented staff and CEO Dr. Jeff Brenner.”
In addition to her work with The Jewish Board, Ms. Schwartz serves as an officer of the UJA-Federation of NY and Penn Hillel, serves as a member of the Executive Committee and boards of the Jewish Federations of North America, The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, The Gateway School and The Steep Rock Association and serves on the board of Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania and on the Board of Advisors of the Penn Carey Law School and on the board of The Browning School.
