Freddy, Fiona, William, Virginia, and Ryan’s Stories
Empowering New Yorkers on Their Recovery Journey Through Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS)

The staff at PROS help hundreds of New Yorkers yearly; learn how they worked with Freddy, Fiona, William, Virginia, and Ryan to make a difference in five of those lives.
Personalizing Paths for Recovery for All New Yorkers
When New Yorkers like Freddy, Fiona, William, Virginia, and Ryan reach out for support, the staff and community peers at PROS work closely with them, focusing on their strengths, unique needs, and recovery goals. These goals may include returning to work or school, securing independent housing, building meaningful relationships, and achieving and maintaining overall wellness. By focusing on these individualized objectives, we can provide support and guidance tailored to their unique needs, helping them determine the steps they need to take to move forward in their recovery journey and improve their quality of life.
Through open and honest conversations about their goals and treatment plans, participants are encouraged and supported to take direct ownership and control of their care. Their support team can extend beyond The Jewish Board network when needed, with our case managers connecting them to other community-based services and supports. Our team focuses on ensuring they have the skills necessary to reach their life goals, enhancing their ability to build healthy relationships, and promoting security and a sense of well-being in their life.
Fostering Incredible Growth Through Comprehensive Care
To support individuals on their recovery journey, our PROS team offers a range of services designed to meet their needs. From individual and group counseling offering a safe space to explore challenges and build coping strategies to vocational and educational services helping prepare someone to return to the workforce, our team focuses on developing skills to help participants gain the tools necessary for daily life and learn the long-term skills needed to prevent relapse.
Participants also have access to psychiatric services and medication management, ensuring their mental health needs are addressed with professional care and support, free breakfast and lunch, MetroCards, and additional transportation services. This holistic approach to support is designed to empower individuals and break down potential barriers to them reaching their goals, thriving and leading more fulfilling lives.
