Teen Volunteer Opportunities

Are you 16 years or older?
Do you want to help New Yorkers in need?
Do you want to learn about the social work field?
If you answered YES, then we have volunteer opportunities for you! The Jewish Board is New York City’s largest social services organization, helping over 40,000 New Yorkers in all five boroughs every year. We are currently looking for teen volunteers to help out in the following ways:
Become a Waiting Room Assistant, and share your skills and passions!
Help children with their homework, read a book together, or just chat while they wait for their appointments! This opportunity requires a weekly commitment.
Be a Companion to an individual with a developmental disability, and make a new friend!
Mishkon is a residential program for individuals with developmental disabilities. As a companion to your new Mishkon friend, you will visit weekly and spend time together playing a game, listening to music, drawing, and more!
Run a Donation Drive to benefit one of our many programs!
The clients at many of our programs are always grateful for new clothing, toiletries, electronic devices, gift cards, and toys! If you are interested in running a donation drive, we will help to match you with a program in need.
